WTMX-FM Parts Ways With Erin Carman

WTMX-FM/101.9 The Mix is suddenly looking for a new nighttime personality. The station has parted ways with Erin Carman, who had been hosting the 7:00pm-Midnight shift for well over a year.

Hubbard Broadcasting Chicago and WTMX-FM has no official comment on the reason for the abrupt release of Carman, nor will they be commenting on it. Erin Carman has not responded to requests for comments on her release.

Erin Carman first joined WTMX-FM in late October 2010, originally for weekends & fill-ins. Just over two months later, she was promoted up to evenings, filing the void left from the surprise release of veteran evening personality Jeff Corder in December 2010. Shortly after that, she became host of WTMX-FM's experimental all-request evening show, "U-Mix-It." At the time she was named host of "U-Mix-It, Carman was quoted as saying: "I feel like I've been cast in the role of a lifetime."

Prior to her recent stint with The Mix, Carman was heard on WLUP-FM/The Loop from May 2005 to March 2009. She started out as a weekender at the station and soon after became the midday host. She has also worked at WKQX-FM/Q101 (as "Heather" on Mancow's Morning Madhouse) before her Loop days and did freelance work on WGN-AM in 2009. Additionally, Carman was a host on the Discovery Channel's "Garage Takeover" reality television show during the 2003-2004 season. She currently does some imaging work for WAXQ-FM/Q104.3 in New York and runs the dog walking company, "Ruff Times," along with her husband, former WKQX-FM morning show contributor David Ball.

A native of Canton, OH, Erin Carman has wanted to work in radio since she was teen -- largely in the hopes of meeting her then-favorite artist Prince. She hasn't met Prince yet, but has had the opportunity to work in radio & television for over 17 years.
