Comcast SportsNet To Carry Blackhawks Banner Raising Ceremony + Special

Comcast SportsNet Chicago kicks off its season of Chicago Blackhawks coverage tomorrow with the team's home opener vs division rival Detroit Red Wings. In addition to carrying the game live beginning at 7:30pm, CSN will have plenty of special coverage before the game begins.

Beginning at 6:00pm, CSN will turn its broadcasts over to total Blackhawks coverage. "Stanley's Summer Vacation" is a thirty minute special that looks at the non-stop off-season of the Blackhawks and the amazing summer journey of the Stanley Cup -- from all over the city of Chicago to the hometowns of Blackhawks heroes Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. Chris Boden hosts the special.

Immediately following the special will be an extended one hour Blackhawks Pre-Game Live show with hosts Chris Boden and Steve Konroyd. In addition to looking ahead to the new season, the show will broadcast the 2010 Stanley Cup Championship banner raising ceremony from the United Center.

7:30pm begins the live coverage of the home opener, featuring Blackhawks play-by-play by fan favorite Pat Foley and color analysis by former Blackhawks star Eddie Olczyk. Blackhawks Post Game Live immediately follows the game featuring Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville's post-game press conference, along with live locker room player interviews and complete post-game analysis.

For those who cannot be in front of a television at that time, Comcast SportsNet's website, CSNChicago.com will stream the banner raising ceremony live before the game. After the game, the website will provide a live stream of Coach Quenneville's post-game press conference (as it will after all home games).
