On the eve of its 20th anniversary of being a rock radio station, far north suburban WIIL-FM/95 WIIL ROCK will be celebrating this milestone by throwing a gigantic hard-rockin' concert. The 95 WIIL ROCK Fest will salute its 20 year anniversary by having a concert with 20 bands for only $20 per ticket.
The NextMedia-owned WIIL-FM became a rock & roll station in September 1992. The station dropped its old call letters of WJZQ-FM and picked up the current call letters of WIIL-FM, standing for WI (Wisconsin) and IL (Illinois), since the station situated at the Wisconsin/Illinois border covers areas in both states. At the time of its launch, it was a basic classic rock station. WIIL-FM has since evolved into more of an active rock station, taking its playlist into a much harder direction.
The anniversary party called WIIL ROCK Fest is using the slogan "20 Years, 20 Bands, 20 Bucks." The concert event will take place on Saturday, August 11th at Shadow Hill Ranch (2305 Lance Drive, Twin Lakes, WI). This will be an all-day event, with the gates opening bright & early at 9:00am.
The 20 bands scheduled to appear are:
All That Remains
Saving Abel
Fear Factory
Static X
Black Stone Cherry

10 Years
Deuce
Shadows Fall
Janus
Dirge Within
Texas Hippie Coalition
Stereoside
Seven Day Sonnet
Emphatic
Wayland
Hyro Da Hero
Digital Summer
Red Line Chemistry
The Last Nova
Black Oxygen
The final band to the line-up, 10 Years, was just announced early this morning.
As advertised, tickets are only $20 in advance. The price goes up to $25 at the door. There are also limited tickets available for the Gold Circle, which is the area directly in front of the stage, for $30. Additionally, there will be limited "Platinum" tickets sold for $79, which give the purchaser admission to the Gold Circle, free parking at Shadow Hill Ranch, a private bar with bathrooms, and a free food buffet. Tickets can be purchased online at this link

In addition to all of the above, WIIL-FM will have a "WIIL ROCK Fest Pre-Party" the night before, on August 10th, taking place at The Brat Stop, located at 12304 75th St., (Hwy 50 & I-94), in Kenosha, WI. That party, which begins at 8:00pm, will feature the bands Trapt, Royal Bliss, and The Dreaming. Tickets for that show are $10 in advance and can be purchased
HERE, or $12 at the door.
WIIL-FM is located just north of the Illinois border in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Its transmitter, also located just two miles north of the WI/IL border sends out a 50,000 watt signal, which can be heard clearly from the north of Chicago to the southern portion of Milwaukee.
