New Live Game Show To Feature Many Chicago Media Personalities

A brand new comedy game show, which will be done live on stage Tuesday evening, will feature many Chicago media personalities, as Blewt! Productions presents "Telestrations." The game show is based on popular drawing game of the same name by USAopoly, where players simultaneously draw what they see, then try to guess what they saw.

The game is a modern twist on the children's "telephone game," only instead of a secret sentence being whispered around the room, there are multiple words being passed around between players, with everyone drawing and guessing at the same time. Then, when the original books get back into the hands of of the correct players, the revealing of the clues, as compared to what was drawn, often leads to hilarious results. It's miscommunication and bad artwork at its very best.

Tuesday night's show will be hosted by Blewt! founder Steve Gadlin. This is far from the first time he has messed around with doodles. Steve Gadlin was featured earlier this year on ABC-TV's "Shark Tank," pitching his idea for his stick-figure-cat-drawing company & website IWantToDrawACatForYou.com.

"When we first played Telestrations, it had us cracking up when people tried doodling words that turned into something completely different, and derailed into bouts of belly laughter - And we knew instantly that we wanted to play it out on stage," says Gadlin in a statement. "There's something insanely funny about people's perceptions of things - especially when that somebody can't draw to save their life!"

Joining Gadlin on stage will be a panel of celebrity guests from Chicago television and radio, including some very funny people. Scheduled to take part in the "Telestrations" show are:
- Aly Bockler, correspondent on WCIU-TV's "You & Me This Morning"
- Art "Chat Daddy" Sims, correspondent on WCIU-TV's "You & Me This Morning"
- Brian Babylon, co-host of WBEW-FM/Vocalo.org's "Morning Amp"
- Dick O'Day, former WTTW-TV "Wild Chicago" correspondent, WCKG-FM weekend host
- Jeff Hoover, producer and character actor on "WGN Morning News"
- Mike Toomey, reoccurring character actor on "WGN Morning News"

Several lucky audience members will get to play along with the funny panelists, winning games, prizes, and maybe even some cold, hard cash.

Blewt! Productions' stage event of "Telestrations" will take place this Tuesday, August 7th at 8:00pm at the ComedySportz Theatre (929 W. Belmont, Chicago). There is no charge to attend... or, for those brave enough... to participate.

There will be executives and employees from WCIU-TV and WGN-TV in the audience that night. Will they be there just to cheer on some of their co-workers on the stage that evening, or could "Telestrations" turn into a local television program? Time will tell. In September 2011, Gadlin & Blewt! Productions' live game show "Don't Spit the Water!" was turned into a television pilot and aired on WCIU-TV.

Blewt! has been producing comedy game shows on Chicago stages since 2004. In addition to "Don't Spit The Water," they have also put on the long-running "Impress These Apes" and "The Nairobi Project."
