Chicago Blackhawks Announce 2012 Preseason Broadcast Schedule

The 2011/2012 NHL season just ended one month ago and the 2012/2013 regular season doesn't begin for nearly three months, but the Chicago Blackhawks have released their radio & television broadcast schedule for the 2012 preseason.

The Blackhawks' preseason will consist of six games played against three teams (one home and one away game for each team). The games will be played in late September through early October.

Out of the six games played in the preseason, three will be heard on the radio, while three will be heard via webstream/mobile streaming only. WGN-AM will air the last three games on AM 720, but the first three games will only be able to be heard online at WGNRadio.com/listen or via WGN Radio's mobile app or the apps for iHeartRadio and TuneIn Radio. One of the three games heard on WGN-AM, the September 30th contest against Pittsburgh scheduled to begin at 6:00pm, may not have the first part of the game heard over the airwaves. WGN-AM is contractually obligated to air the Chicago Cubs game that begins at 3:10pm. Between the end of the baseball game and its postgame show, it is likely those broadcasts will go slightly later that the 6:00pm start time for the Blackhawks game. If that is the case, the pregame show and start of the radio broadcast will be heard on WGNRadio.com. The announcing team of John Wiedeman and Troy Murray will again be returning to call the games.

Additionally, three of the contests will be shown on television, while three will not be able to be seen at all. Of the three games televised, two will be shown on Comcast SportsNet Chicago and one will air on WGN-TV. Regardless of which of these two stations air the games, the same announcing team will be behind the microphones: Pat Foley on pay-by-play and Eddie Olczyk on commentary. All games on CSN Chicago & WGN-TV will be in HD.

The Chicago Blackhawks 2012 preseason broadcast schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, September 25 -- at Philadelphia Flyers, 6:00pm -- TV: (none) / Radio: WGNRadio.com

Friday, September 28 -- vs. Detroit Red Wings, 7:30pm -- TV: (none) / Radio: WGNRadio.com

Saturday, September 29 -- at Detroit Red Wings, 6:00pm -- TV: (none) / Radio: WGNRadio.com

Sunday, September 30 -- vs. Pittsburgh Penguins, 6:00pm -- TV: CSN Chicago / Radio: WGN-AM 720

Friday, October 5 -- at Pittsburgh Penguins, 6:00pm -- TV: CSN Chicago / Radio: WGN-AM 720

Saturday, October 6 -- vs. Philadelphia Flyers, 7:30pm -- TV: WGN-TV / Radio: WGN-AM 720

The Chicago Blackhawks 2012/2013 regular season broadcast schedule is expected to be announced in late August.
