Dawn Hasbrouck Joins FOX Chicago News As Anchor & Reporter

Fox Chicago News announced today that Dawn Hasbrouck has joined the station. She will be the WFLD's newest anchor person, co-anchoring the News at Noon with Patrick Elwood, beginning Monday, February 15th. In addition to her weekday anchoring duties, Hasbrouck will also do reporting for other newscasts during the day.

Dawn Hasbrouck is a Chicago native who is very happy to be coming back home. "I'm thrilled that Fox Chicago has given me the opportunity to return to my hometown and cover news in the city in which I grew up," Hasbrouck said in the Fox press release today. "After working around the country, I can't wait to be back here among family and friends. This is truly a blessing."

For the past three years, Hasbrouck has been a weekend anchor and reporter for WBZ-TV in Boston, MA. Prior to that, she spent time as an anchor and reporter for WFSB-TV in Hartford, CT, WITI-TV in Milwaukee, WI, WTGS/WJCL-TV in Savannah, GA, WKYT-TV in Lexington, KY, and WHO-TV in Des Moines, IA.

Hasbrouck is a graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep, as well as Duke University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy. She later attended Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, where she received her Masters of Science in Journalism. She is a member of Northwestern University's "Council of One Hundred," a group of the institution's top female graduates.

In addition to her journalistic skills, Dawn Hasbrouck is an accomplished performer, who studied opera for nine years, and enjoys the fine arts. She also works with youth organizations and mentoring programs as a volunteer. She is married and has one son. Oddly enough, both she and her husband are one of a pair of twins. Her family is in the process of relocating to Chicago from Boston now.

Dawn Hasbrouck's assignment to the Noon anchor seat displaces Nancy Loo from there. Loo will continue at the station as a reporter and website contributor, however.
