Sarah Jindra Exits WBEZ-FM, Joins CLTV/WGN-TV As Traffic Reporter

NAVTEQ Traffic/Radiate Media's Sarah Jindra will be named as the exclusive contractor to local Tribune Broadcasting-owned cable station CLTV as its morning and afternoon traffic reporter, as well as fill-in traffic reporter for WGN-TV's morning newscast. As such, she will exiting her role as morning traffic reporter for WBEZ-FM, as well as giving up her fill-in duties as a traffic reporter for WMAQ-TV.

Sarah Jindra's last day on the air for WBEZ-FM will be this coming Friday morning, July 13th. She will start in her new role with CLTV this coming Monday morning, July 16th. However as a radio traffic supervisor, she will be working afternoons at Radiate for the next week, training her replacement (to be named later).

In a goodbye note to her WBEZ-FM listeners today, Sarah Jindra wrote: "I am so incredibly grateful for all of your support over the last several years! You are such an engaged audience and it has been a joy helping you get to work on time (or at least helping you know how late you'll be!). I can't thank you enough for all of your emails, tweets, FB posts and calls. I've really enjoyed getting to meet so many of you at station and community events, and getting your feedback on how to improve my reports over the years." She added: "WBEZ is filled to the brim with true professionals in the industry and it has been an honor to share the airwaves with them!"

A native of suburban Westmont, Sarah Jindra earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Master's degree, also in Broadcast Journalism, from Syracuse University.

Jindra received her start in media working at WPGU-FM, the student-run radio station in Urbana, IL, while still a student. After graduating from Syracuse University, she began working as a reporter and fill-in anchor for WCIA-TV in Champaign, IL. In February 2008, Jindra came back upstate to Chicagoland to join NAVTEQ Traffic (now Radiate Media) as a traffic reporter.

She and her husband live in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago.

In her new television position, Sarah Jindra now replaces Kye Martin. It was announced earlier today that Martin is leaving CLTV/WGN-TV and taking over as morning traffic reporter for WMAQ-TV.
