This afternoon, Rick Vaughn, WKSC-FM's Program Director, announced that Kenard "K2" Karter will officially take over as Music Director for the CHR station. K2 has also been the Music Director of Clear Channel sister-station, WGCI-FM since 2007. He will continue as MD for both stations now.
Kiss-FM had been without a Music Director since Jeff "Smash Ditty" Murray was forced out from the station in budget cuts almost one year ago. Karter was among those helping out at WKSC in Murray's absence.
Kenard Karter joined Clear Channel radio in Chicago in 2004 as production assistant, as well as an overnight & weekend DJ for WGCI.
"Kenard is wired to win," said Rick Vaughn in the statement. "His positive energy and years of experience make him perfect for the leadership role of Music Director at 103.5 KISSFM."
Congratulations to K2!
