WGN TV 9.3

I've noticed that WGN has started to test over the air channel 9.3 for their launch of the "THIS" Network on November 1st. The only trouble is their testing is causing the signals of channels 9.1 and 9.2 to pop on and off. Has anyone noticed that watching with an antenna?

      Hi!

I had just noticed yesterday the new WGN 9.3 channel when I advanced my channel selector forward. So far I did not notice any interference with either 9.1 or 9.2 channels on account of this new channel line-up that has not yet been fully implemented.
I did not even know that this is going to be another THIS channel because I did not see any publication about it, yet.
This is exactly what lazy TV watching couch potato americans need: Another TV station to waste the people's lives in front of the stupid box! If you are having problems, I suggest you do a channel scan. This usually restores the default settings and should fix some of your reception problems.

I happened upon "This" on over-the-air sub-channel 9.3 yesterday. The test broadcasts haven't interfered with my over-the-air reception of 9.1 (I can't say the same for 9.2 because I rarely watch it). It's interesting how the "NETWORK TEST" says that it's "NOT FOR AIR."

Does anyone know what will replace "This" on over-the-air sub-channel 26.5?

Dave, I'd rather see Touchvision stay where it is at and they just move Bounce to 26.5 and remove the many simulcasts of ME-TV. Keep 23.1 but get rid of the other two subchannels and increase bandwidth a tad more. Let's hope THIS TV (the new version) can be something worth watching because the way it is now, it's just horrible to watch. Weigel really dropped the ball with this network and here's hoping Tribune can do something with it, like putting on better movies and toons and making their presentations more crisper and cleaner in the process.

I think Weigel Broadcasting will replace This Network at 26.5 with programming from their " Bounce" network that currently airs on 23.2

Okay, but then what'll become of 23.2?

I'm thinking Bounce TV will be moving to 26.5 starting November 2nd, then they take off 23.2 and maybe increase the bits to 23.1 as there is no real need to have a simulcast with 23.3, so just keep 23.1 and remove the two subchannels.

I saw 9.3 pop up when doing a re-scan of my TV and all it is airing are color bars and tone with movie clips being inserted in between with a promotion for a James Bond triple feature starting at 11 AM CT on 11/2/2013 on the new THIS 9.3 channel. I'm just hoping they can rebrand this network into something watchable as that channel currently airing on 26.5 is just really bad right now and going down the drain...more like a throwaway station by Weigel.

Not sure when the new GETTV channel on 60.2 is supposed to premiere. Larz, any word?

I also saw the test pattern for 9.3. So we know they're getting it ready for WGN-TV's November 1 takeover of This TV. I'm waiting to see what changes are made to This TV. I do know that the TV shows that are on in the overnight & early morning hours will move to Antenna TV, & the cartoons outside of the Pink Panther will go away.

As for 26.5, I'd like to see Bounce moved to 26.5, but I read somewhere else that it could become Touchvision (I hope not). I sometimes have problems getting WWME-LD on RF 39 from Gary, IN, & I must get WWME-LD in order to watch Bounce. If they were on WMEU-CD's bandwidth, I wouldn't complain as much, since WMEU-CD has a better signal in Gary, IN than WWME-LD does (WWME-LD has a null toward Indiana, in order to protect WMYS-LD South Bend, while WMEU-CD aims more of their signal toward Indiana, but nulls it to the north & northwest, in order to protect WBUW Janesville, WI on RF 32.

The testing on this station is just very strange, as yesterday, there was an actual simulcasting of THIS TV 26.5 with 9.3, but with the difference being a huge banner on the 9.3 channel saying THIS (Logo) NetworkTesting...Not for Air, but it was an exact broadcast of 26.5 with different commercials airing in between. Today (10/13), there were just color bars and tone but again, hoping the new THIS TV will be something worth watching versus what is airing on 26.5 right now. They can't close up shop there on 26.5 quick enough!

I've noticed the same interference on 9.1 and 9.2. Annoying since it has forced me to stop watching WGN news at 9PM. Hope they fix that. I have the same problem with the 3 WLS-TV/channel 7 stations, dropping in and out.
