Jay Johnson Aircheck - WVON-AM 1972

With this being Black History Month, the CRM Audio page looks at one of the better DJs in Chicago radio history, who happens to be African-American and whose name doesn't get mentioned as much as it should. Jay Johnson was an energetic afternoon personality on WVON-AM in the early 1970s. (He also went by the names Orange Juice Jay and Super Jay Johnson.) Johnson was one of the many very talented DJs to have worked for WVON-AM in the station's very popular 60s/70s music era. Here is an aircheck from October 18, 1972 from the 4:00pm hour of his shift that day. Also heard on here is a news break with Jim Maloney. (Running time: 9:47)
