Halloween weekend is rapidly approaching and WKQX-FM and six Chicago drinking institutions have some devilish plans for you.
The annual celebration known as "Dead on Division" is returning for Saturday, October 30 and Sunday, October 31, taking place along Division Street at The Original Mother's, Mother's Too, Bootleggers, The Lodge, She-Nannigans and The Hangge-Uppe.
The haunted happenings kick off on Saturday, October 30 at The Original Mother's, where Q101's morning team of Sherman & Tingle will be broadcasting LIVE from 8:00pm-Midnight. Joining Sherman & Tingle will be many of the WKQX morning show friends including Kenosha Brad, Harold the Bicycle Messenger, Superman, and of course, some Q101 Token Hotties. S&T will be sending their zombies out to each of the legendary clubs on the Division strip to bring back a victim... that is, a contestant to compete in a costume contest at the stroke of midnight for prizes. In addition to big costume contest, there will be plenty of other games & contests going on during this live show. Prizes include an autographed Avenged Sevenfold Guitar, the latest Avenged Sevenfold CD & DVD, and many other prizes from the Q101 prize vault. Admission charge is only $5.
The following night, Sunday, October 31, Q101's afternoon drive personality Tim Virgin will be at The Original Mother's from 8:00pm-1:00am as he host THE BIG PRIZE Costume contest: $1000 cash, $500 for second and $250 for third place with lots more in prizes throughout the night, as well. Live music will be provided by the Chicago-area's top Kiss tribute band, Kings of the Nighttime World. There is no cover charge this night.
Over at Mother's Too, Halloween partygoers can celebrate Dia de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead. The theme at Bootleggers will be a battle of Super Heroes vs Super Villains. She-nannigans will have a Hollywood-themed costume show, with all the staff dressed as famous movie stars. A trip through the Time Machine happens at The Lodge Tavern. Hangge-Uppes Halloween theme will be Heaven and Hell.
Both nights, most locations will feature a costume contest around the stroke of Midnight -- the top prize being at Mother's costume contest on Sunday, as mentioned above.
"Dead on Division" will take place both nights of Halloween weekend along Chicago's Rush & Division scene. The Original Mother's is located at 26 W. Division St.; Mother's Too is located at 14 W. Division St.; Bootleggers is located at 13 W. Division St.; The Lodge is located at 21 W. Division St.; She-Nannigans is located at 16 W. Division St.; and The Hangge-Uppe is located at 14 W. Elm St.
