The morning team of WUSN-FM, Lisa Dent & Ramblin' Ray Stevens were told today that they are the winners of a 2010 CMA Award. The duo won the Country Music Association's award for 2010 CMA Broadcast Personality of the Year - Major Market.
The CMA Awards for the radio industry awarded today were broken down in to two main catagories: CMA Broadcast Personality of the Year and CMA Radio Station of the Year. Those were then broken down into sub-categories of Major Market (Chicago), Large Market, Medium Market and Small Market. The Personality category also had a National sub-category for syndicated hosts/programs.
The 2010 CMA Broadcast Personality of the Year - National was awarded once again to Lon Helton for his syndicated program CMT's Country Countdown USA. This is Helton's fifth time winning the award in the last eight years. Helton's show is heard on weekends on WUSN-FM.
Surprisingly, WUSN-FM was not even nominated for 2010 CMA Radio Station of the Year - Major Market, and thus, did not win this year.
Congratulations go out to US99.5's Lisa Dent & Ramblin' Ray, however! Not only have their morning show ratings been on the rise of late*, but now they have bragging rights as the one of the country's very best radio talents.
(* In the recently released September Arbitron ratings, Lisa Dent & Ramblin' Ray's morning show was tied for fifth place with 4.2 share for Persons 25-54. Even better news is that for Women 25-54, the WUSN morning show came in second place with a 5.8 share.)
