On Monday, October 25th, the "Second Annual Jack Brickhouse and Rudy Malnati Sr. Benefit" will be taking place, honoring two beloved Chicagoans: a legendary Chicago broadcaster and the man who first established Pizzaria Uno's. Last year's event (10/05/09) was a huge success, so the joyous fundraising party is back for another go-round.
As it was last year, the event will feature an Italian buffet dinner, unlimited beverages (beer, wine, well drinks, soft drinks), live entertainment, sports memorabilia auctions, prizes and raffles.
Drinks will also once again be served by special celebrity bartenders. Scheduled to be part of the fun this year are such Chicago media stars as: Elliott Harris from the Sun-Times, Bill Zwecker from the Chicago Sun-Times & WFLD-TV, Fred Mitchell from the Chicago Tribune, Jan Jeffcoat from WFLD-TV, Wayne Messmer from WIND-AM and the Cubs field announcer, and Kevin Moore from WJJG-AM. Some non-media celebrity guests will be part if this, as well, including: former Chicago Bears quarterback Bob Avellini, former Chicago Bulls superstar (and second all-time leading scorer in Bulls history) Bob Love, and Mrs. Illinois Alli Munsey. More celebrity names will be added in the coming week.
The "Second Annual Jack Brickhouse and Rudy Malnati Sr. Benefit" will happen a week from tomorrow at Pizano's Pizza and Pasta, located at 1808 N. Waukegan Rd. in Glenview, from 5:00pm-10:00pm. Advanced tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for children under 12. At the door, tickets will be $40 and $20. Proceeds from the event will go to Children's Memorial Hospital.
