WFLD-TV general assignment reporter Tera Williams had her first baby in mid-August and left for maternity leave from the station in early August. She is supposed to return to the station from her maternity leave on November 9th. However, as
first mentioned here last July, Tera Williams will not be returning to the station next month.
On his
Tower Ticker page today, Phil Rosenthal is also now reporting that the reporter is done with WFLD-TV. The Chicago Tribune media writer based this on information gained from sources close to the situation.
Tera Williams is married to former WFLD-TV/WGN-TV news anchor Mike Barz, who recently began a news anchor position in Jacksonville, FL. The Williams/Barz household includes Mike Barz's children from his previous marriage, their boxer named Rudy, and now their new baby girl Taylor. It has been widely expected that Williams, who is a Florida native, will soon move back to Florida to be with her husband of less than a year and near her family members.
Williams was born and raised in DeLand, FL (just under two hours south of Jacksonville), is a journalism graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville, and is a huge Florida Gators football fan. A move back to the Sunshine State is something she has wanted for a while.
