The 52nd Annual Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards ceremony is taking place this Saturday in Chicago. The nominations for the local television awards were
released on September 28th and tomorrow night, the winners will be revealed.
The black tie optional gala will take place tomorrow at the Park West (322 W. Armitage, Chicago), with food & drinks beginning at 5:30pm and the award presentation kicking off at 7:30pm.
The emcee for the event will be actress/stand-up comic Kim Coles, who lived in Chicago for a while, while co-hosting WMAQ-TV's short-lived "In the Loop with iVillage." Among the many presenters will be WCIU-TV's Jeanne Sparrow & Melissa Forman, WGN-TV/WGN-AM's Tom Skilling, and WFLD-TV's Bob Sirott with his wife and former WFLD-TV news anchor Marianne Murciano.
The Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences seeks to recognize, encourage and advance excellence in the Midwestern television industry. With these Emmy Awards, they reward outstanding professional, technical and personal achievement in the art and sciences of television and media. The Chicago/Midwest Chapter covers the television markets of Chicago and the northern half of Illinois, the northern portion of Indiana over to the South Bend-Elkhart market, and the majority of Wisconsin.
