Trish Biondo has been with WUSN-FM/US99.5 for well over 24 years. As she gets ready to celebrate her golden anniversary with the station, US99.5 has decided to treat Ms. Biondo like gold. CBS Radio Chicago has re-signed Trish Biondo to a multi-year deal, to make sure she happily stays with the station for years to come.
As always, CBS Radio is not releasing the detailed terms of her new contract.
With 25 years at US99.5, Biondo is obviously a veteran. She has worked pretty much every shift at the station over the last two and a half decades, including mornings, but for the past few years has been their midday star. She can be heard each weekday doing her five hour shift of 10:00am-3:00pm. Additionally, she can be heard three time each weekday, doing her "Nashville Hotline" updates at 9:30am, 1:30pm, and 8:30pm -- updates she has done for 20 years at the station.
In the past she has also been WUSN-FM's Research Director, Promotions Director, and doubled as Music Director for 13 years. Billboard Magazine named her Music Director of the Year in 1997. In addition to all that, Biondo once hosted US99.5's weekly video show.
Trish Biondo is a native of the southwest side of Chicago. Her father and two brothers are all Chicago Fire Department firefighters. She is a graduate of Mother McAuley High School and has a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Loyola University. She has also earned a Master of Education and Elementary Teaching Certificate from St. Xavier University and attended classes at Belmont University in Nashville.
Prior to US99.5, Biondo has jobs with WLS-TV, WGN-AM, and WKQX-FM in Chicago, as well as with MTM Records in Nashville, TN. She also was an instructor at Columbia College Chicago.
