WBBM-FM Hires Jason Cage As New Night Jock

As first hinted here on the CRM Message Board back on January 24th, WBBM-FM has hired a new personality to handle the B96 night shift. His name is Jason Cage and he will be taking over the weekday timeslot of 7:00pm-Midnight, beginning Monday, February 21st.

Cage comes to Chicago's WBBM-FM from Little Rock, AR's KLAL-FM where he has worked nights since 2005. Prior to KLAL-FM, Cage had nighttime DJ positions at WZAT-FM in Savannah, GA and WZYP-FM in Huntsville, AL. While in Little Rock, Jason Cage also ran the "Got Beats" Mobile Party Service, providing DJs and music for parties, weddings and events.

Todd Cavanah, Program Director of WBBM-FM made this news official this afternoon in a press release. In the statement Cavanah said, "We've been following Jason for some time now and are excited to have him on-board. With his track record of success and exceptional ability to entertain, we are confident that Jason will become the next Chicago radio superstar."

Jason Cage said in today's statement: "During my 10 year on-air career, the legendary B96 has always been on the top of my list of dream radio stations to work for. I'm more than humbled and honored to work alongside Todd Cavanah, Music Director Erik Bradley and the entire B96 staff. When I stepped foot in the door at B96 - it felt like I had found my new family."

Jason Cage now must say goodbye to his many fans in Little Rock. On his Facebook page a short while ago, Cage wrote: "THANK YOU Little Rock for the past 5 years. It's been an excellent time and you have been the best audience a radio show could ask for. FEB 21st will be the official first show on the new home of the Cage Show, B96 in Chicago."

Rumors spread rapidly in late January that Jason Cage was the man that B96 had decided to bring in. The station had been looking for a new nighttime DJ for a few weeks prior to that. In mid-January, CBS Radio Chicago brought Cage to town, where he toured the station and later enjoyed tickets to a Chicago Bulls game. He proudly displayed his ticket stub in his hand on his Facebook page.

Cage is replacing Jerzy as the station's evening jock, but Jerzy remains part of the B96 family. He will work weekends for the station and be a principal fill-in DJ. Jerzy will also represent B96 when BOOM Entertainment puts on live dance events for high schools.
