Comcast SportsNet Chicago has announced that former Chicago Bulls superstar, current team ambassador and Basketball Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen will be joining the CSN broadcasting team of Neil Funk and Stacey King. Pippen will be an additional game analyst for the Bulls telecast on Friday, March 4th, when the Bulls take on the Magic in Orlando. That will be just the warm-up, though. Starting in Mid-April, Pippen will become a permanent game analyst with Funk & King for every Bulls 1st round playoff telecast on Comcast SportsNet.
James J. Corno, President of Comcast SportsNet Chicago said in a statement today: "Scottie Pippen is most certainly one of the greatest players in NBA history whose knowledge and passion of the game is second to none. We're thrilled Scottie will be on our team with Neil and Stacey for the March 4th telecast at Orlando, along with every Bulls playoff telecast on Comcast SportsNet this spring."
The Chicago Bulls are 20% owners in Comcast SportsNet Chicago.
Scottie Pippen spent 12 seasons with the Chicago Bulls as a player and was a key component to the team winning six NBA titles. In all, he played 17 seasons in the NBA and his list of accomplishments is incredible. Pippen was named to the "All-NBA First Team" on three occasions, twice to the "All-NBA Second Team," the "All-NBA Defensive First Team" eight times, an NBA All-Star selection seven times and the 1994 All-Star Game MVP. He was named one of the "50 Greatest Players in NBA History" in 1996, had his jersey number retired by the Bulls in December, 2005, and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
Pippen returned to the Chicago Bulls organization in July, 2010 as an ambassador for the team. The 2010/2011 Chicago Bulls are currently in first place in the NBA Central Division, thanks to a strong team of exciting young talent, and predicted to go far in the post-season.
Scottie Pippen's wife Larsa will also be a staple on television this Spring. The reality show "The Real Housewives of Miami" premiered this week on Bravo. Larsa Pippen is one of the six main stars of the program. When Scottie Pippen played for the Bulls, Larsa Pippen was voted as "Hottest NBA Wife." Scottie Pippen insists he has no desire to be a reality TV star, but will make a reluctant & brief cameo on one of the shows.
