A few Chicago radio stations have stepped up to help out a broadcasting charity by donating numerous items for people to bid upon. The auction is going on now and ends in just over a week.
Inside Radio, the radio industry website, has set up a new auction website called
InsideRadioAuction.com. Up for auction on there right now are a large amount of items donated from Chicago radio stations. Up for auction currently is...
- A Chicago Blackhawks prize pack with 4 tickets to a Blackhawks home game, a puck signed by Patrick Sharp, dinner before the game at Harry Caray's Italian Steakhouse, and a gift pack with items from WTMX-FM, WILV-FM and WDRV-FM/WWDV-FM. This package, valued at $400, was donated by WTMX, WILV, WDRV/WWDV and Hubbard Radio Chicago.
- A Chicago prize pack with 2 tickets to the 12/4/11 Chicago Bears home game, a Johnny Knox autographed Bears mini-helmet, 2 tickets to Blue Man Group @ Briar Street Theatre, and a dinner certificate for the "Brunch" restaurant. This package, valued at $561, was donated by WBBM-AM/WCFS-FM & CBS Radio Chicago.
- A different Chicago prize pack with 2 tickets to the 9/25/11 Chicago White Sox home game, an Adam Dunn autographed White Sox hat, $100 Gift Card to Frankie's Restaurant, and 4 tickets to Skydeck Chicago. This package, valued at $350, was donated by WSCR-AM & CBS Radio Chicago.
- A Chicago Cubs gift pack with an autographed baseball by former Cub player and announcer Ron Santo, a WGN/Cubs cooler on wheels, a WGN/Cubs beach towel, and Shure SE215 Sound Isolating Earphones. This package, valued at $375, was donated by WGN-AM and Tribune Broadcasting.
A great many other items are also up for auction now, with most ending later next week. All money raised from the auctioned off items will go directly to the Broadcasters Foundation of America, which supports broadcasters in need.
