CBS Radio Chicago today announced a change in their sales leadership as Mark Day takes over as Director of Sales for the Chicago cluster of six stations on seven frequencies. He replaces Peter Bowen, who now exits to become the Director of Sales for CBS Radio's Los Angeles cluster. Both appointments are effective immediately.

Mark Day has been the General Sales Manager of WBBM-AM since 2005. For two years (2009-2011), he also served as the General Sales Manager of WJMK-FM (when it was known as Jack FM). Day started with CBS Radio in 1998 and an Account Executive for WMAQ-AM. In 2000, he went to a sales role with WGN-AM, but soon after returned to CBS Radio as WBBM-AM's Chicago Bears Radio Network Sales Manager. In 2002, he took on the added responsibility of Local Sales Manager for the station. Three years later, in 2005, he was named as that station's General Sales Manager.

Day, a native of Joliet, lives with his family in Chicago. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Speech Communications.

Peter Bowen has been working in Chicago radio for over 20 years, with about 16 of those years with CBS Radio. He began his career in 1991 as an Account Executive with CBS' WCKG-FM, moving over to Century Broadcasting-owned WPNT-FM (now Hubbard Broadcasting-owned WILV-FM) as an Account Executive the following year. In 1996, Bowen came to CBS Radio, joining WJMK-FM as an Account Executive and was fairly quickly named as Local Sales Manager. In 1999, he was promoted to WMAQ-AM's General Sales Manager, and two years later was named as WBBM-AM's General Sales Manager. In 2005, Bowen was named Director of Sales for the entire Chicago cluster. In 2006, Bowen also took on the added duties of Vice President/General Manager of WBBM-FM, as well as WJMK-FM soon after that.

In his new role as Director of Sales for CBS Radio Los Angeles, Bowen will be overseeing the sales of all on-air, online, and event marketing for that cluster's six radio stations.

CBS Radio's President of Sales, Michael Weiss, said of the two promotions today in a statement today: "Under Peter's direction our Chicago stations have consistently performed at a superior level, and Mark has demonstrated he has the qualifications to take on a more senior level position with the company. These moves are well deserved for two employees who have taken on positions of increasing responsibility their entire careers with CBS Radio. This is a win-win for Peter and Mark."
