Despite the chilly weather, Chicagoans love coming out to their Auto Show each and every winter. This year should be no different, as multitudes are expected to pack into McCormick Place over the next few days to enjoy the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, which will be open to the public from February 10th-19th at the McCormick Place in Chicago. Chicago media outlets consistently show up, as well. In fact, this is one of the busiest years ever for live remotes for Chicago radio stations at the Auto Show. Here is a look at just who from Chicagoland radio and TV will be broadcasting there this year, as well as a look at local television specials about this year's show...

(Note: As is the case each year, especially since these times are scheduled long in advance, the list of Chicago media appearances & times listed above are very much subject to change without notice. This page will be updated periodically with the latest information provided to CRM.) As always, the biggest media star at the Chicago Auto Show will be WLS-AM's Paul Brian. That isn't necessarily due to his over 35 years of being on Chicago radio, though. In 1994, Brian joined the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) as its Director of Communications and spokesman -- a position he still holds today. Brian, along with the Chicago Automobile Trade Association, produces the annual Chicago Auto Show mega-event, held at McCormick Place each February. The CATA has produced the Chicago Auto Show since 1935. The Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto show on the North American continent. The first Chicago Auto Show was held in 1901 and has been held more times than any other auto exposition in North America. This year is the 104th edition of the show. As always, the Chicago Auto Show is held at Chicago's McCormick Place (2301 S. Lake Shore Drive), the largest convention center in the United States. Out of McCormick Place's 2.7 million square feet of exhibit halls, the annual Auto Show uses 1.2 million square feet of it. The 2012 Chicago Auto Show is open to the public from February 10-18 from 10:00am–10:00pm and on February 19 from 10:00am-8:00pm. Tickets are only $11 for visitors ages 13-61. Admission for children ages 7-12 and seniors aged 62 and older is only $7. Children 6 and under are free. Discount coupons can be found at Chicagoland car dealers, BP gas stations, certain banks and other institutions, as well. Tickets may be purchased at the McCormick Place ticket booths at the show's entrance or in advance online at this link HERE. ![]()
