This week, Clear Channel Chicago gave the title to Assistant Program Director to WKSC-FM/103.5 Kiss FM afternoon personality Jordan. Over the last few months, Jordan had asked for more responsibilities and stepped up to the plate, assisting Program Director Rick Vaughn. This week's assigning of the APD title makes it all official.
The additional APD duties will not have any affect on his regular duties as on-air host each weekday from 4:00pm-8:00pm.
Jordan, whose real name is Ryan Gorman, is a native of Spring Hill, FL. He knew he wanted to work in radio when he was just a high school student and hosted his own local talk show. Even while attending the University of South Florida, where he majored in Political Science and minored in History & Communications, Gorman hosted his own political talk show on the USF radio station. He aggressively was able to interview politicians, both state and federal, and Presidential candidates during the 2004 presidential election. His radio show became hugely successful, winning many awards.
Jordan, 27, has spent his entire radio career with Clear Channel, working in Florida in Tampa & Jacksonville, and in Connecticut in New Haven & Hartford. He reportedly got his start in radio in 2002 as an intern and assistant to WFLZ-FM's then-Program Director Jeff Kapugi (who is now also in Chicago as the PD for WUSN-FM/US99.5). Jordan became the afternoon jock at Jacksonville's Kiss-FM in May of 2009. He joined Chicago's WKSC-FM in October 2010.
