WLS-FM's living legend DJ, Dick Biondi will be taking part on a special Caribbean cruise this Fall, along with multiple music stars of the 50s & 60s. The "Malt Shop Memories" cruise will transform a Holland America Line ship into a 1950's era malt shop, complete with beach parties, sock hops, live performances from singers of the past, and more.
Along with Dick Biondi, the giant list of guest performers on the special cruise includes Frankie Avalon, Dion, Ronnie Spector, Darlene Love, The Original Drifters, Bobby Rydell, Carl Gardner's Coasters, The Marvelettes, The Chiffons, comedian David Brenner, and many others.
Activities will include numerous dances, an Elvis contest, a salute to Dick Clark & "American Bandstand," and four ports of call: Turk & Caicos, San Juan, St. Thomas, and Half Moon Cay. There is also an Elvis-themed pre-cruise party the night before the boat is scheduled to depart.
The seven-night cruise leaves from Ft. Lauderdale, FL on October 27th. Prices for the "Malt Shop Memories" cruise range from a little under $2,000 to a little over $5,000 (depending on the size & location of the room), although at this time, there are only available rooms in the $2,675-$2,825 range. The cruise may be months away, but there is only limited space left.
