Kevin Manno has been hired as the newest weekend/fill-in personality at WTMX-FM/101.9 The Mix. Manno just returned back to Chicago this past month, after living in New York, where he hosted a national music and entertainment show.
Manno may be best known for his eight years working at WKQX-FM/Q101. He started there as an intern and then eventually worked his way onto the air of his favorite radio station. For two of those years, he was teamed with his brother Ryan Manno on the air.
In August 2010, he left WKQX-FM and Chicago to accept a job hosting a new show for MTV -- a live daily program entitled "The Seven." Although he built up a decent fanbase and was seen as the station's rising star, MTV eventually cancelled "The Seven" and could not find a new role for Manno. Rather than waiting around New York City, Manno and his wife decided to come back home.
WTMX-FM wasted no time bringing him Manno on board once he returned to the Windy City. Mary Ellen Kachinske, WTMX-FM's Program Director, said today: "We're happy Kevin came back home to Chicago. He is a bright addition to The Mix line-up."
Kevin Manno, 29, is a native of nearby Highland, IN and a graduate of North Central College in Naperville.
