WSCR-AM & WBBM-AM Team Up To Present 'The Business Of Sports: Life After The Game' Live Event

WSCR-AM/670 The Score & WBBM-AM/Newsradio 780 are teaming up to present the latest "Newsmakers" live panel discussion. This event will be sports-focused, entitled "Business Of Sports: Life After The Game," and will feature some major former Chicago sports figures, discussing their success in the business world after their playing days came to an end.

"The Business of Sports: Life after the Game" panel will include the following Chicago sports stars:

Bo Jackson -- Former Chicago White Sox slugger (1991, 1993) and one of the biggest names in sports of the last few decades. Famed for his late 80s/early 90s "Bo Knows" advertising campaign by Nike. The 1985 Heisman Trophy winner played both professional baseball and professional football. After his pro sports career, he formed the Bo Jackson Elite Sports Complex in Lockport, IL, of which he is part-owner and CEO. Jackson is also the President of Bo Jackson Enterprises, Inc., and currently serves as a Director of Burr Ridge Bank and Trust.

Gary Fencik -- Former Chicago Bear defensive superstar (1976-1987), who was a starter on the famed 1985 Super Bowl team. Before he picked up the nickname "Hitman," Fencik received his Bachelor's Degree from Yale University. In 1985 and while still a player in the NFL, he received his MBA from Northwestern University. After his pro football career, Fencik worked in the finance industry for Wells Fargo and UBS. He currently works for Adams Street Partners, a global private equity investment management firm that offers comprehensive solutions for its investors.

Jack O'Callahan -- Former Chicago Blackhawks defensive player (1982-1987), who also played for the New Jersey Devils. O'Callahan was a member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Gold Medal winning Hockey team in Lake Placid (the "Miracle On Ice" team). After retiring from hockey, O'Callahan returned to Chicago and worked in the financial services business on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He later co-founded Beanpot Financial Services with another former NHL player, Jack Hughes. O'Callahan is the President of BFS, a boutique Investment Services firm with offices in Winnetka, IL and Boston, Ma.

The sports business panel will be hosted and moderated by WSCR-AM's top-rated morning show personalities, Mike "Mully" Mulligan and Brian Hanley.

"The Business of Sports: Life after the Game" event will take place on Thursday, September 20th, at the House of Blues (329 N. Dearborn St., Chicago) at 6:30pm. (Doors open at 5:30pm for networking.)
