WGN-TV To Stream Newscasts Live On iPhone

Want to see WGN-TV News on your iPhone? Starting Monday, there's an app for that! Beginning Monday the 22nd, Chicago's WGN-TV will offer iPhone users the ability to watch live streams of the station's newscasts. They will be the first Chicago station to offer this service.

When viewers click on the wgntv.com home page via their iPhone, they will be able to click on a link that allows them to watch live streams of the WGN's three main daytime newscasts: the WGN Morning News from 6:00am-9:00am, the WGN Midday News from 11:00am-1:00pm, and the WGN Evening News from 5:00pm-6:00pm.

In a statement today, WGN News Director Greg Caputo said, "Our staff has been working very hard to reach this goal. As viewers become increasingly mobile in their needs and viewing habits, the ability to allow viewers to watch our newscasts live on their iPhones is a huge first step. WGN-TV is committed to reaching our viewers on-air, online and on-the-go."

WGN began streaming the WGN Midday News and the WGN Evening News online at WGNtv.com in 2009. This will be the first time that their popular Morning News show will be streamed in its entirety.
