Tomorrow night will be the first of three scheduled debates between President Barack Obama and former Governor Mitt Romney. WGN-AM 720 will break from its normal programming to carry the audio of Wednesday's debate live on its airwaves. It will then have an expanded edition of "Extension 720 with Milt Rosenberg" afterward. The debate will be preceded by a shortened version of "WGN Sports Night."
The debate will air Wednesday evening from 8:00pm to 9:30pm. It will be broadcast live from the University of Denver in Denver, CO. The planned topic for this first debate is domestic policy. The moderator of the debate, PBS' Jim Lehrer has selected six questions on that subject, of which each question will be talked about for approximately 15 minutes each.
"WGN Sports Night," which normally airs from 7:00pm-10:00pm, will only be heard for one hour to make room for this Presidential debate, airing instead from 7:00pm-8:00pm.
Immediately following the debate, which should end at approximately 9:30pm, "Extension 720 with Milt Rosenberg" will take to the airwaves to discuss the debate. The normally two hour show will air for an additional 30 minutes, thanks to its earlier start time.
