DePaul University this week announced its broadcast schedule for its Men's Basketball games for the 2011-2012 season. For the 15th season in a row, WSCR-AM/670 The Score will air the majority of the DePaul Blue Demons games on the radio. Also returning this year will be games televised locally on WCIU-TV 26.2/U-Too and nationally on the Big East Network and ESPN3/ESPN2/ESPNU.
WSCR-AM will broadcast 25 DePaul games this season, starting with the season opener against UC Riverside on November 9th at 8:00pm. Due to scheduling conflicts, an additional three games that would have aired on WSCR-AM will instead air on WYLL-AM. WSCR-AM/WBBM-AM's Zach Zaidman returns as the play-by-play announcer, with former WLS-TV sportscaster Jeff Blanzy taking over as color analyst. Blanzy began calling games for the DePaul Blue Demons last season, filling in for analyst Laurence Holmes, who was unable to do road games. (Blanzy also filled in as play-by-play announcer for one game.)
In addition to hearing the games on the radio, DePaul fans can subscribe to hear the call by Zach Zaidman and Jeff Blanzy for every single one of the DePaul Blue Demons games online, as well as watch selected video streaming broadcasts of non-conference games on BlueTube, which is DePaul's "All Access" online audio/video player. Two additional games on November 20th & 21st will only be heard on BlueTube, not on WSCR-AM or WYLL-AM.
BlueTube has an annual subscription package costing $79.95 or a monthly subscription plan of $9.95 per month. Subscriptions also include audio and video streaming for Women's Basketball games and all DePaul sports that are capable of live streaming online. It also now comes as a mobile app for iPhone and Android devices.
DePaul Men's Basketball will be all over the TV this season, as well. Locally, 16 games will be seen on WCIU-TV's digital subchannel known as U-Too. 13 of those games will be simulcasts on the Big East Network's feed. In addition to being seen over the air on channel 26.2, Chicagoland cable subscribers can view U-Too on Comcast's XFinity 248/360, RCN 35 and WOW 170.
For those with the proper cable/satellite package, 13 games will be seen on ESPN3, four games on ESPNU, three games on ESPN3, three games on ESPN, two games on CBS Sports network, and one game on the Pac-12 Network. All games will be shown online via BlueTube, including five games exclusively.
