Joanie Lum Hired By WFLD-TV/Fox32

Joanie Lum, the former reporter for WBBM-TV has been officially hired by WFLD-TV as of today. She will work as a reporter for Fox 32's "Good Day Chicago" beginning on April 19th.

Lum is a television news veteran, with most of her career being here in Chicago. From October 2003 through April 2009, she was a reporter for WBBM-TV, before being amoung those cut from the staff in a major layoff. Prior to that, she worked at WGN-TV for 16 years, primarily as a reporter. Before joining WGN, she worked in a few other markets, including Rockford's WREX-TV.

Word of Lum's possible hire was first reported by Phil Rosenthal on his online media column, Tower Ticker last week. This now reunites Lum with News Director Carol Fowler, who she worked with at both the WBBM & WGN television stations.
