CBS Radio Unveils New Websites For Chicago FM Stations

CBS Radio, which owns 5 FM and 2 AM radio stations in the Chicago market, has unveiled brand new websites yesterday for each of its FM stations here. All 5 of the new websites look very similar and follow the same template.

While I am sure some local webmasters worked very hard at getting the new sites up and running, they are unfortunately not an upgrade from what each of the stations had before. The sites are more cluttered and less appealing to the eye. The home page resembles a basic blog site, with blog items going down the middle of the main body of the very long page.

The streaming window has not received any upgrades. The CBS Radio Player still takes a while to load and even longer before you can hear any music, since a minimum of a 15 second ad must be endured first. Hopefully CBS will work on upgrading that next.

Here are links to the 5 new websites:
WXRT-FM / XRT
WBBM-FM / B96
WUSN-FM / US99.5
WJMK-FM / Jack-FM
WCFS-FM / Fresh 105.9

The websites for CBS Radio's other two Chicago stations, WBBM-AM and WSCR-AM have so far not had any major changes since their last upgrade many weeks ago.
