The 2010 Loop Rock Girl Search Voting Is On

WLUP's search for their 2010 has reached the online voting stage. Hundreds of women tried out and the contestants have now been narrowed down to the final 32. Photos and information about the final 32 contestants are now up on the WLUP website. Each weekday at 4:00pm, two of the women will face off against each other. Whoever receives the most votes on the Loop website by 4:30pm, advances on to the finals.

Online voting began last Friday afternoon, so as of now, 4 women have been eliminated and 4 have moved on. In addition to voting on WLUP.com, votes can be cast via text by texting the name of the woman you are voting for to the number 8-4-7-9-2. Voters who can't click online or text, can call into the Loop studios at 312-591-ROCK or 312-591-ROLL and say the name of their vote.

The final vote between the last 2 women will take place on Friday April 23rd. Soon after 4:30pm, when all the final votes are counted, the "Sweet 16" will be all set. Those 16 hopeful winners will then move on to the late night finals which will take place on Saturday May 1st at a location still to be determined.

This year, the winner gets a $75,000 contract as the grand prize, along with the year-long title of "Loop Rock Girl 2010." Also, every time a Looper votes during the current final 32 stage, they are entered in a contest to win a 4 day/3 night trip for 2 to Allegro Playacar in Riviera Maya, Mexico. That lucky winner will announced on May 1st, as well.

This is Chicago, so you should know the rules: Vote early & vote often.
