WKSC-FM/103.5 Kiss FM today announced the majority of their line-up for their first holiday concert, Jingle Ball. This year's Jingle Ball, which features multiple artists, will be taking place on Monday, December 9th.
Jingle Ball 2013's line-up consists of Robin Thicke, Chris Brown, Enrique Iglesias, Flo Rida, Icona Pop, Avril Lavigne, Travie McCoy, and Fifth Harmony. Other artists could be added to the line-up in the coming weeks. Could Chicago's own Fall Out Boy be one of them...?
The Jingle Ball 2013 is not exclusive to Chicago. Much of the same line-up of artists will do a 12-city tour together within a three-week period in December, performing Jingle Balls for a dozen of Clear Channel's hit music stations across the country, including five stations branded as "Kiss FM." In addition to Chicago, the other stops on the Jingle Ball tour include Dallas, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Seattle, Minneapolis, Atlanta, New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Tampa, and Miami. There are slight variations with a few artists on some of the stops.
The Jingle Ball concerts are also be labeled as being presented by Clear Channel's iHeartRadio.
Chicago's Jingle Ball 2013 will take place on December 9th at the United Center in Chicago. The show is scheduled to start at 7:30pm, with the doors opening at 6:00pm.
Tickets for the Chicago show will go on sale to the general public on October 19th at Noon via Ticketmaster
. Ticket prices, including the Ticketmaster fees, will range between $43.93 and $147.36.
However, long before that date, there are other ways to get tickets. A ticket presale will take place via Ticketmaster from 5:00pm Tuesday, October 15th through 4:59pm Wednesday, October 16th. This will be exclusively for WKSC-FM's "KISS VIP" members and those who have liked 103.5 Kiss FM's Facebook page. Additionally, there will be a second presale, this time exclusively for those who have Chase credit or debit cards. The Chase presale times are 5:00pm Wednesday, October 16th through 5:00pm Friday, October 18th.
$1.00 of each ticket sold will be donated to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, a non-profit organization operated by Clear Channel Radio personality Ryan Seacrest which seeks to inspire youth through entertainment and education focused initiatives. Ryan Seacrest first announced the Jingle Ball line-up on his KIIS-FM radio show in Los Angeles this morning. A recorded announcement by Seacrest, customized for Chicago's version of Jingle Ball, was played on WKSC-FM later this afternoon.
Tommy Austin, Clear Channel Media + Entertainment Chicago's Vice President of Programming, said today: "We're beyond excited to host Chicago's first ever 103.5 KISS FM's Jingle Ball for our fans this holiday season. The concert is an amazing opportunity for our fans to see this year's hottest artists and newest talent in one place."
While WKSC-FM has held large summer concerts before (most recently named Fantabuloso), but this will be the station's first winter/holiday concert. 103.5's Jingle Ball 2013 now becomes a major competitor for WBBM-FM's annual "B96 Jingle Bash," which also features numerous pop/rock/hip hop artists on a bill that is slowly being revealed. The B96 Jingle Bash will take place five days later than the Kiss FM Jingle Ball -- on Saturday, December 14th at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont.
Should this year's Jingle Ball be a success, look for it to become an annual event for Chicago's WKSC-FM and all of Clear Channel's CHR stations in major markets nationwide.
