For the next few weeks, WLS-AM should change their call letters to WBLAGO-AM. More than any other station in Chicago, they plan on being the #1 stop for all news related to former Governor Rod Blagojevich and his current federal corruption trial.
In addition to yesterday's announcement
that Rod Blagojevich will be a regular correspondent during his trial for WLS-AM's Done & Roma morning show, appearing there at least weekly. WlS has a few more Blago announcements today...
Starting today, and every Monday through Thursday, WLS will have a "Primetime Blago" segment on each afternoon. The segment will air during the "Roe Conn Show with Richard Roeper" at around 5:30pm. Joining Conn, Roeper and newsman Jim Johnson for these segments will be Andy Shaw, the former top political reporter for WLS-TV and current Executive Director for the Better Government Association. Also joining periodically will be attorney Mike Monico and other reporters covering the Blagojevich trial.
That's not all! WLS-AM's website now has a full Blago Trial Blog
, which is being updated numerous times a day by many WLS staffers, with news stories, video and more.
WLS' Twitter account
is now all Blago-related. In the last two days, they have posted up almost a dozen tweets, all of which are related to the Blagojevich trial.
Just because WLS placed Blagojevich's Sunday afternoon radio show on hold
, does not mean that there will be no more Blago on WLS. In fact, just the opposite is true. Rod Blagojevich is still a member of the WLS family and they want to make sure they corner the market on him. There will now be more Blago talk & news on WLS than ever before.
