CBS Radio Chicago Unveils Culinary Kitchen Studio

CBS Radio Chicago has unveiled a new studio space called the Culinary Kitchen, created for live cooking demonstrations, drink tastings, and much more. The main attraction of the new studio is its professional-grade kitchen, fitted with state-of-the-art culinary equipment, as well as high-quality audio and video capabilities.

CBS Radio Chicago's seven radio stations are WBBM-AM/Newsradio 780 & 105.9, WSCR-AM/670 The Score, WBBM-FM/B96, WCFS-FM (WBBM-AM simulcast), WJMK-FM/104.3 K-HITS, WUSN-FM/US99.5, and WXRT-FM/93XRT. All seven of the stations share space within Two Prudential Plaza in downtown Chicago (180 N. Stetson, Suite 1100, Chicago). Along with the radio station studios and offices, CBS Radio created a large stage to showcase live performances from musical artists. Listeners and invitees (plus website visitors) can often see intimate shows on that Blue Cross Blue Shield Performance Stage located within the CBS Radio Chicago studio complex. Adjacent to that stage, CBS Radio has now put this new Culinary Kitchen display.

Besides being utilized for cooking and cocktail demonstrations, the Culinary Kitchen display will be used for various other live events, including book signings, public meet and greets, and on-air interviews. Each event will be live streamed on CulinaryKitchenChicago.com and promoted by the the radio stations and their associated web presences.

The very first planned event happening within CBS Radio Chicago's new Culinary Kitchen will take place on Monday, February 6th at noon with a live cooking demonstration and discussion with native Chicago chef, Jeff Mauro, hosted by WXRT-FM/93XRT morning show host Lin Brehmer. Mauro is the Executive Chef for Pork & Mindy's restaurants. He and Brehmer will be preparing a special dish for a handful of ticket winners. (The contest for these free tickets has already ended.)

Tim Pohlman, Senior Vice President and Market Manager of CBS Radio Chicago, said today: "CBS Radio Chicago continues to be a leader in producing innovative experiences that supplement our radio brands and offer exciting and non-traditional avenues of exposure for our clients. The Culinary Kitchen is another great example of the forward thinking and creativity we offer to satisfy the tastes of discerning locals in this ever-evolving market."

CBS Radio's new Culinary Kitchen was designed and built with the assistance of culinary advisor Andrew Kaplan who advised the company on every facet of the kitchen's construction.

Stated Kaplan today: "I believe the Culinary Kitchen is one of the more unique culinary destinations in Chicago and across the country. It allows chefs, food industry personalities, and food-loving musicians a chance to reach an audience that they would normally not have a chance to reach, across the full spectrum of CBS Radio platforms, originating from one of the best food cities in the world."
