Chicago Bulls 1st Round 2017 NBA Playoffs Series Broadcast Schedule

For the eighth time in nine years, the Chicago Bulls are heading to the playoffs, this year taking on the Boston Celtics in the first round. The first game of the Bulls post-season will be Sunday evening. Locally, all of the games from this first round will be seen on CSN Chicago, while nationally, games will be seen on TNT and ESPN. All of the games' radio broadcasts will be heard locally on the Chicago Bulls Radio Network via WLS-AM 890 and WLUP-FM/97.9 The Loop.

CSN Chicago, the Bulls primary television home during the regular season, will have the exclusive local "hometown call" for every game broadcast in this first playoff series. As they have done throughout the regular season, every Bulls playoff telecast will feature the entertaining announcing duo of Neil Funk on play-by-play and former Bull Stacey King on color analysis.

Before each game, CSN Chicago will have a Bulls pre-game show, including a one-hour pre-game show before Game 1 on Sunday. Following each playoff game will be an exclusive Bulls post-game show. Both the pre-game and post-game shows will be hosted by Mark Schanowski along with former Bulls Will Purdue and Kendall Gill. There will also be reports delivered by CSN's Bulls beat reporter Chuck Garfien and CSNChicago.com Bulls "Insider" Vincent Goodwill.

Once again, there is an exciting second way to watch the CSN Chicago Bulls first round playoff games this year as all of CSN Chicago's broadcasts of the Bulls in the first round of the playoffs will be streamed live on CSNChicago.com and available via the NBC Sports Live Extra app for authenticated subscribers. This will include live streaming of CSN Chicago's Bulls pre-game and post-game shows, as well as the games themselves.

Should the Bulls/Celtics NBA playoff series go to a Game 5, and should the Blackhawks/Predators NHL playoffs go to a Game 7, both of those games would take place on April 26th, causing a conflict for CSN Chicago. Most likely, the Bulls playoff game would then shift to CSN+.

Additionally, most of the Bulls playoff games conflict with baseball games CSN Chicago is scheduled to broadcast. In those cases, the baseball games will shift to CSN+ or CSN+2 during the time period of the Bulls games.

CSN Chicago will have plenty of Bulls playoff-themed programming surrounding these postseason games. The regional sports station will have the "Bulls Playoffs Preview" tonight (Friday) at 11:00pm. This 30-minute special will be hosted by Schanowski, Perdue, and Gill and will feature an inside look at the Bulls/Celtics first round match-up, a recap of every regular season game against the Celtics, player status updates, key highlights from the 2016-17 season, player/coaches interviews, and an overview of the entire NBA Playoffs picture. Other Bulls-themed shows on CSN include a special "SportsTalk Live" episode with David Kaplan hosting the show from the United Center before Game 3 of the series.

Along with the local broadcasts shown on CSN Chicago (or potentially CSN+), these games will also be broadcast nationally on cable networks TNT and ESPN, although they could be blacked out in the Chicago market depending on certain conditions.

The Chicago Bulls Radio Network will be delivering the hometown call on the radio for the Bulls' entire postseason run. In the Chicago market, which is normally heard on WLS-AM. However, WLS-AM is also the flagship radio home for the Chicago White Sox, which contractually takes precedence over any Bulls broadcast. Since the first four playoff games between the Bulls and the Celtics take place at the same time as White Sox games (and possibly the games later in the series, as well), the Bulls Radio Network will instead be heard on Cumulus sister-station WLUP-FM. WLS-AM will join the Bulls playoff games in progress if their White Sox games coverage ends prior to the end of the Bulls games coverage. Regardless of which station the games are on, the broadcasts will once again feature Chuck Swirsky as the play-by-play announcer, former Bull Bill Wennington on the color commentator, and Steve Kashul as the host for the pre-game, post-game, and halftime shows.

Additionally, the three home games scheduled for this series will be broadcast in Spanish with Omar Ramos as the play-by-play announcer and Matt Moreno as the color analyst. Normally, all three games would be on WRTO-AM/Univision Deportes Radio 1200, but this time only Games 3 and 6 will be on WRTO-AM. Due a scheduling conflict on WRTO-AM (a Chicago White Sox game broadcast), Game 4 will instead be heard on Univison-owned sister-stations WVIV-FM/WVIX-FM/Latino Mix 93.5 & 103.1 FM.
