Jill Egan Joins 97.1 The Drive As Morning Show Producer

WDRV-FM/97.1 The Drive has been searching for a new producer for their morning drive program "The Sherman & Tingle Show" for months. The search is finally over with the hiring of Chicago radio veteran Jill Egan, who takes over as morning show Executive Producer effective May 15th.

Egan has been working in Chicago radio for nearly 20 years. Among her local media positions over the last couple of decades include radio producer, on-air personality/DJ, news reporter, traffic reporter, podcaster, blogger, and most recently, television traffic correspondent.

Egan began her radio career as a promotions intern and production assistant at WXCD-FM/CD 94.7 while still a student at Columbia College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio Broadcasting in 1998. She, along with Brooke Hunter, were part of WZZN-FM/The Zone's morning show in 2002 and 2003. Additionally, she was heard as a traffic reporter on WGN-AM and other stations while working full-time for Shadow/Metro Traffic. Egan might be best known for her long time with WLUP-FM/The Loop, where she was working weekends on a part-time basis for a couple of years before being hired on a full-time basis in March 2008, where she was a producer and traffic reporter for the afternoon show. She was later promoted to producing and doing reports for the morning show with Pete McMurray. Budget cuts had Egan exit the Loop in October 2011, but she was quickly back to work just a month later with Radiate Media/NAVTEQ heard on WBEZ-FM. She later added weekends on WTMX-FM/101.9 The Mix to her workload, as well as fill-in weekend traffic reporter for WMAQ-TV/NBC 5.

In 2012, Egan reunited with her WZZN-FM co-host Hunter to create the popular podcast "The Brooke & Jill Show." Although that show went on a permanent hiatus after just 16 episodes, the entire series can still be heard exclusively right here on this very website.

Egan is a Chicago area native and a member of the Chicago Chapter of Columbia Alumni.

Regarding her new role producing "The Sherman & Tingle Show," Jill stated today: "Producing a radio show is the most challenging, but also the most rewarding position I've held in my broadcast career. Sherman and Tingle are both extraordinarily talented, hilarious, hard-working, and genuine guys. I share the same drive to succeed as they do. Hubbard Broadcasting is a company where managers and executives support talent like nowhere else. I am thrilled to be welcomed into this new role with Hubbard Broadcasting, a dynamic organization that is committed to the ever evolving art of radio."

WDRV-FM Program Director Rob Cressman added: "We are very pleased to welcome Jill to the team at The Drive. Her attributes, including a distinctive Chicago background and an inimitable, positive attitude will provide an opportunity to build on the emergent success of 'The Sherman & Tingle Show.'"

"The Sherman & Tingle Show" debuted on WDRV-FM on October 31, 2016. It currently airs weekdays from 5:30am-9:00am.
