The brand new WBBM-TV early morning news program makes its debut tomorrow morning. The much-talked about show is WBBM-TV's replacement for "Monsters & Money in the Morning" show, which aired its final episode this past Friday.
The show will not have a catchy name like "Good Morning Chicago" of "The Early Morning News." Instead the program will have not one, not two, but
three very generic names. From 4:30am-5:00am, the show will be called "The CBS 2 News at 4:30am." From 5:00am-6:00am, the show will be called "The CBS 2 News at 5:00am." From 6:00am-7:00am, the show will be called "The CBS 2 News at 6:00am."
The traditional morning newscast will feature newcomer Steve Bartelstein and station veteran Susan Carlson as its news anchors. Another station newcomer, Megan Glaros will be the meteorologist. After moving Susan Carlson to news anchor and having their second choice turn them down, former news anchor/weather person Don Schwenneker has been chosen as the show's traffic reporter. (There will be no reporting from a helicopter in the air for this new morning show. Schwenneker's reports will all be in-studio.)
Despite hints that a full unveiling of the new show's plans would happen this past week, none occurred. Requests to WBBM-TV for logos, headshots and further show information have gone unanswered.
