ESPN 1000 is now on the lookout for a new Program Director, as Justin Craig is exiting the station. A meeting was called this morning for staffers of WMVP-AM, where it was announced that Craig had accepted a position at sister-station WEPN-AM/ESPN 1050 in New York City.
Craig became Program Director of WMVP-AM in the beginning of October, 2006, replacing Jeff Schwartz, who had exited a couple of months prior. At that time, he was an Assistant Program Director for the ESPN network, focusing on evenings and weekends for the company's radio broadcasts.
He is a lifelong ESPN staffer, having started with the company in 1998, working on the syndicated "Mike & Mike Show," first as a technical director, and then as producer until March of 2006.
Justin Craig begins as Program Director at ESPN 1050 in three weeks. Although still a few hours away, this move puts him closer to his hometown of upstate Pittsford, NY.
WMVP-AM Vice-President & General Manager John Cravens is now searching for Craig's successor. In the interim, Assistant Program Director Adam Delevitt will help Cravens handle Justin Craig's duties.
