Comcast SportsNet Chicago will be undergoing some changes next week, with a new show name for its primary sporting news programs and some new looks to it.
The first change is that CSN's "SportsNite," "SportsDay" and "SportsRise" will become the new "SportsNet Central." The new flagship name & re-branding for CSN's news programming will give the shows a more uniform feel throughout the day.
The "SportsNet Central" news team of anchors and reporters -- including Pat Boyle, Mark Schanowski, Chris Boden, Gail Fischer, Chuck Garfien, Sarah Kustok, Kip Lewis, Jen Patterson, and Luke Stuckmeyer -- remains unchanged.
In addition, remaining unchanged are the showtimes for the newly-named "SportsNet Central" --
- 5:00am-10:00am Monday-Friday
- 7:00am-9:00am Saturday & Sunday
- Noon-12:30pm daily
- 6:30pm-7:00pm daily
- 10:00pm-10:30pm & 10:30pm-11:00pm daily
- Midnight-12:30am daily
(Times could vary due to live sports programming.)
Also new for Comcast SportsNet beginning next week will be all-new sets for their live Pre-Game and Post-Game shows. The larger, state-of-the-art, redesigned set reportedly will provide a better ability for stand-up reports by anchors and enhanced monitors to showcasing highlights, stats, scores and more.
Viewers can also expect to see a brand new on-air graphics upgrade for all live, locally-produced sport broadcasts. Highlights of the upgraded graphics package include new animations, a new on-screen score "bug," enhanced statistical information and flashy transitions.
The new re-branding of the news programs, the new sets and the new graphics all begin next week, on Monday, October 4th -- just in time for the new seasons of the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bulls broadcasts.
