New Chicagoland Radio Book Released: 'The WYEN Experience'

In 1971, a new north suburban radio station signed on at 106.7 FM with the call letters WYEN. The station went from a "Beautiful Music" format, to an all-request format the next year ("Request Radio"), to an Adult Contemporary format, until finally selling to a new owner in the mid-1980s and becoming a new station with new format and call letters in 1986. Along the way, many of Chicago radio's top personalities worked at the station, before moving on to bigger & better things, both locally and nationally.

This week, a new book has been released that looks back at WYEN-FM's peak years in the 1970s, documenting many of the stories and experiences that the radio station's staff have recently shared with the author.
