WGRB-AM Hires Mark Smith As New Morning Show Co-Host

WGRB-AM/Inspiration 1390 announced today that it has hired Mark Smith -- lead Pastor of A Place of Change (APOC) in the western suburbs, as well as an author, actor, songwriter, and business executive -- to take over as morning show co-host. Smith's first day on the air for WGRB-AM will be tomorrow morning.

WLS-TV Hires Terrell Brown As Reporter/Anchor

WLS-TV/ABC 7 has announced the hiring of Terrell Brown, who will be the station's newest general assignment reporter and contributing news anchor. Brown's first day on the air will be on April 14th.

Goli Sheikholeslami Named As President/CEO Of Chicago Public Media

After searching for a leader for over eight months, Chicago Public Media (CPM) today announced they had found their new President and Chief Executive Officer. New York/Washington D.C. media executive Goli Sheikholeslami will move to Chicago and take over in that position, effective May 5th.

MJ Witt Exits As WFLD-TV 'GDC' Executive Producer

MJ Witt has exited her roles as Senior Executive Producer and creative consultant for WFLD-TV/FOX32's "Good Day Chicago." She had only been on the job for for a little under five months.

TheCoolTV Launches On Chicago Television

Chicago television has a new all-music video channel as of today. TheCoolTV officially launched this morning as both a cable channel and an over-the-air digital subchannel locally.

Greg Easterly Named President/GM Of WGN-TV & CLTV

Tribune Broadcasting has announced that Greg Easterly has been hired to take over the long-vacant role of President and General Manager of WGN-TV and CLTV. Easterly will begin in this role on April 14th.

105.5 The Kat Releases Program Director/DJ Freak

Today, WYKT-FM/The Kat 105.5 afternoon drive personality Freak said his goodbye on the air. The Will County Active Rock radio station released Freak in a cost-cutting move. In addition to being a DJ, Freak was the station's Program Director, Music Director, and heavily involved with promotions. More than that, he was the station's heart and soul.

Jill Manuel Returns To Chicago As WFLD-TV Assistant News Director

WFLD-TV/FOX 32 today announced the hiring of Jill Manuel as the station's newest Assistant News Director. She will officially start her new role on April 15th. It will be a return back to Chicago for Manuel, a former local television news director and executive producer.

Northwest IN's Radio One Communications Sells Entire Cluster Of Stations

Northwest Indiana radio station ownership group, Radio One Communications has agreed to sell all of its radio stations to Adams Radio Group, LLC. This transaction includes the sale of all four of their Valparaiso-based radio stations: WLJE-FM/Indiana 105.5, WXRD-FM/X-Rock 103.9, WZVN-FM/107.1 The Z and WAKE-AM/Oldies 1500 WAKE.
