WTTW-TV To Premiere A New 6-Part Travel Show: 'Islands Without Cars'

Next month, WTTW-TV will debut a new weekly mini-series, entitled "Islands Without Cars." The six-episode travel program explores islands in the Western Hemisphere which forbid the use of any motorized vehicles.

A very special new addition has come to the Chicagoland Radio & Media website. The long-running Beatles-themed radio show, "The Magical Mystery Tour" will now be featured in podcast form in this website's Podcasts section. All original podcasts by the show's host and creator James D. Jones can be heard exclusively on CRM.

WSCR-AM Holds New 'Score Search' For Fantasy Football Expert

Lyme Aide - A Motorcycle Ride/Fundraising Event For Original Loop Rock Girl Erica

The original Loop Rock Girl from 2005/2006, Erica Gustafson-Valker, continues to be in the fight of her life, as she battles the painful effects of chronic Lyme disease, medical/insurance industries which refuse to acknowledge or properly treat the disease, and skyrocketing medical bills. Some friends of hers have put together a unique fundraising event for next month.

ABC 7's Rafer Weigel Explains His Decision To Leave Chicago TV

As previously mentioned here, WLS-TV/ABC 7 weekend sports anchor Rafer Weigel will be leaving Chicago television at the start of October to move to St. Louis. MO. There he will be a full-time, weeknight news anchor for KTVI-TV.

WSRB-FM/Soul 106.3 will have some changes to its on-air staff in the very near future, as one Chicago radio veteran is getting ready to leave and perhaps two new hosts will be joining.

J.C. Corcoran Returns To Chicago Radio For Labor Day Fill-In

As exclusively mentioned HERE yesterday, WGN-AM will be bringing back Steve King and Johnnie Putman in a fill-in role for Labor Day morning. They won't be the only radio station with a big fill-in host that particular morning, though. Veteran Midwest radio host J.C. Corcoran, a Chicago native and an extremely well-known personality from St. Louis, MO, will be filling in for Bruce Wolf and Dan Proft on the morning of September 1st on WLS-AM.

WGN-TV Newscast Changes - More Hours, Anchors Change Shifts

As part of its new fall schedule, WGN-TV is making numerous changes to its newscasts. The changes are happening in the mornings and afternoons, with an extra hour of news added each weekday afternoon and new shifts/duties for Mark Suppelsa, Micah Materre, Lourdes Duarte, Tom Skilling, Erin McElroy, and Sarah Jindra.

WCKG-AM Moves To New Studios In Oakbrook Terrace

WCKG-AM 1530 has fully moved in to their brand new, state-of-the-art studios and executive offices as of this past week. The new WCKG-AM location is within the luxurious Oakbrook Terrace Tower in west suburban Oakbrook Terrace.

Steve & Johnnie Return To WGN-AM For Labor Day Fill-In Role

For the second time in under a year, beloved WGN Radio overnight radio duo of Steve King and Johnnie Putman will be making their return to the Chicago airwaves. This will take place on Labor Day, as they fill in for the WGN-AM morning show, working the 5:00am-10:00am shift.

Muchin & Bellow's 'The Dirty Truth' Becomes 'The Big Payoff' - Moves To WGN.FM

Internet-only radio station WGN.FM has picked up a new weekly business show entitled "The Big Payoff." Hosted by Suzanne Muchin and Rachel Bellow, this live 60-minute program was previously called "The Dirty Truth" when it was heard on WBEZ-FM and WJOB-AM. It is now heard at 11:00am on Tuesdays, streaming on WGN.FM.

ABC 7 Officially Announces New Daytime Schedule; WCL To Have Week Of Double Shows

WLS-TV/ABC 7 officially announced its new fall daytime schedule today. Among the changes are the addition of "The Rachael Ray Show," the shifting of some shows back to their familiar time slots, and the revelation that "Windy City Live" will have one week of two shows each day.

WGN-TV's Rich King Gets 'Back In The Game' With New Book

WGN-TV sports anchor/reporter Rich King will soon be releasing a new book about his life, entitled "Back In The Game." The personal story looks at a recent chapter in King's life, where he copes with the death of his first wife after 32 years together, faces depression, and is eventually able to find love once again.

Executive Changes At Univision Chicago: Larry Sands Exiting; Doug Levy Promoted

Major changes are taking place this month with media giant Univision Communications. These nationwide changes have numerous executives exiting and some being promoted. This includes Univision Chicago, which will soon see Regional Vice President and General Manager Larry Sands exit, while Univision Chicago Radio General Manager Doug Levy gets promoted to General Manager of all of Univision Chicago.
