WLS-TV To Expand Its Tuesday 10:00pm Newscast To Cover The IL General Primary Election

WLS-TVABC 7 will be expanding its top-rated 10:00pm newscast on Tuesday night to better cover the 2014 Illinois General Primary election news and results. The normally 35-minute program will expand to a full 60 minutes tomorrow night.

WGN-TV/CLTV To Offer Extensive Coverage Of The 2014 Illinois General Primary Election Results

For tomorrow night's election news and results, the WGN News team has extensive, constant coverage planned via WGN-TV, its local cable sister-station CLTV, and online. WGN News will be the only outlet offering completely live and local election information all evening long on Tuesday.

Hub Arkush & Daily Herald To Publish New 'Chicago Football' Magazine

Shaw Media and Daily Herald Media Group today announced that it is launching a new magazine and website dedicated to covering Chicago-area football on all levels: high school, college, and professional. Veteran football analyst and sports talk personality Hub Arkush will oversee the operation and lend his name to the new "Chicago Football" print publication and online presence.

WXRT To Shamrock 'N Roll On Monday

Tomorrow, Monday March 17th, is St. Patrick's Day. As happens each year on that day, WXRT-FM/93XRT will do its annual tradition of having the Irish-themed feature called "Shamrock 'N Roll." This on-air St. Patrick's Day party will run from 5:30am until 9:00pm.

Turi Ryder Returns To WGN-AM As Week-Long Fill-In Host

WGN Radio has not yet made a decision on a host for its vacant 11:00pm-2:00am weeknight shift. Various fill-in hosts have been on the air during that time for the last few weeks. For next week, the host of that shift will be the person who spent half of last year working WGN-AM's late nights: Turi Ryder.

Comcast SportsNet Chicago To Broadcast Two Baseball Games Commercial-Free

For the first time ever in its history, Comcast SportsNet Chicago will broadcast two live Major League Baseball games with absolutely no commercial interruptions. These two broadcasts will both take place this weekend -- one featuring the Chicago White Sox and one featuring the Chicago Cubs.

B96 Announces Summer Bash 2014

WBBM-FM/B96 has begun to reveal its lineup of artists for its annual summer concert event, the B96 Summer Bash. The concert's headliners will be Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, and Chris Brown. At least three more performers will be revealed at the end of this month.

Soul 106.3 Hires Mike Love For Afternoons

WSRB-FM/Soul 106.3 has hired former WGCI-FM DJ Mike Love to be its new live and local afternoon host. "Bad Boy Radio with Mike Love" will air each weekday from 2:00pm-6:00pm, starting Monday, March 17th.

Chicago Radio Stars On Talkers' 2014 'Heavy Hundred' List

Talkers is a radio industry website (formerly a printed magazine) that focuses almost exclusively on the talk radio format. Once a year (usually in late winter or early spring), it famously puts out its always-controversial and always-conversational "Heavy Hundred" list. That list ranks who the magazine's editors felt were the top 100 American talk radio personalities of the previous year. The newest list of their annual ranking was released today.

Chicago White Sox's 2014 Regular Season Broadcast Schedule

The Chicago White Sox recently revealed their broadcast schedule for the upcoming 2014 season. As was the case last year, games will be seen on local television on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, WGN-TV, and WCIU-TV; seen on national television (potentially); and heard on the radio locally on WSCR-AM in English and on translator W248BB in Spanish.

Chicago Cubs' 2014 Regular Season Broadcast Schedule

The Chicago Cubs recently revealed their 2014 regular season broadcast schedule.
