Two Chicago Radio Vets Asking IL Government To Honor Military Veterans On Driver's License

Rich Renik and Denny Farrell, two longtime Chicago radio broadcasters and Vietnam era military veterans, are taking the lead in requesting the State of Illinois to adopt a resolution that allows honorably discharged military service men and women to be recognized on their state issued driver's licenses.

Chicago Media At Sunday's 45th Annual Pride Parade

This Sunday at Noon, the 45th Annual Pride Parade will take place. This annual event is the City of Chicago's second largest parade with well over 200 units strolling slowly down city streets in front of an estimated 850,000 spectators lining the street sides. The parade kicks off from the corner of Broadway and Montrose. Numerous Chicago media outlets will be participating in this year's Pride Parade, with one radio station broadcasting live from it and one television station broadcasting the event on tape delay.

Donovan McNabb & Mark Malone Return To Chicago For Live Radio Remote

A pair of sports stars with local connections are making their return to the Chicago area later this week. Chicago native and former NFL star quarterback Donovan McNabb, along with former NFL quarterback and former WBBM-TV/CBS 2 sports anchor Mark Malone will be in town Friday afternoon. IBA 2014 Silver Dome Award Winners Announced

This past Wednesday, the Illinois Broadcasters Association (IBA) held their IBA2014 conference in Champaign, IL. The highlight of the event was the nighttime announcements of the winners of the IBA's annual Silver Dome Awards. The awards are meant to honor broadcasting quality & excellence by Illinois radio and television stations, as well as their staffers, each year.
