The C.R.M. Message Board

Chicagoland's greatest and longest-running media-themed message board!

Where is Matt Abatacola?

He isn't doing updates and is no longer on the WSCR web-site. Perhaps the strangest part is that there has been nary a peep from any of the hosts.

In radio, nothing strange about not hearing a peep. Barely a mention when Chris Rongey left, over 6 month ago. Unless your someone like Terry Boers the rule seems to be "that of which we do not speak"

Dan B had Rongey in studio for an entire hour on his last day to talk about his departure.

Matt Abbatacola executive produced "The Boers & Bernstein Show" for 16 years. I thought he did an amazing job putting together Terry Boers' final show at 670 AM The SCORE back in January.

I got the impression Abbatacola was demoted, not promoted, to full time update anchor once Boers retired & Jason Goff was promoted as Boers' successor alongside Dan Bernstein in afternoon drive.

In my opinion, I think Abbatacola wanted to move on beyond producing once Boers retired. I think he wanted a bigger role at The SCORE than just doing updates and occasionally hosting at the CBS Sports Radio-owned outlet.
